Loyola University Center for Environmental Communication

Type of organization:
Outreach & Education

The Loyola University Center for Environmental Communication (LUCEC) is one of the few such centers in the United States that specializes in training communicators in covering environmental issues.  All of our efforts are focused on spreading the word about the environmental issues facing Louisiana and beyond. LUCEC: serves students in the School of Mass Communication and Loyola's Environmental Studies Minor Program; hosts the Institute for Environmental Communication for citizens interested in widening their communication circle; serves as a media resource on environmental issues; intervenes in environmental challenges faced by businesses; presents workshops intended to improve environmental reporting in the Caribbean region.
