Basic function:

  • In collaboration with the PI and team members, conduct qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial research into visitor perceptions of storm impact in National Parks in the northeastern United States and develop related outreach materials.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Create an OMB- and IRB-approved, mixed-methods, geospatially based research protocol to explore visitor perceptions of storm impact in National Parks in the northeastern United States, including the development of a participatory mapping tool. 
  • ​Conduct and supervise field research at the parks and online using paper and digital maps, and standard qualitative and quantitative research methods. 
  • ​Analyze and synthesize data into recommendations for practice for National Park Service interpretive staff. 
  • ​Contribute to and oversee the production of print and digital outreach materials based on the research. 

This position is part-time (20/hrs week) and is limited to 07/23/2016 with extension contingent on funding.
