Washington State University is in the process of identifying a new CEREO Director to promote system-wide (multi-campus) interdisciplinary environmental activities integrated across research, education, and outreach efforts that are regional, national, and global in scope. CEREO (www.cereo.wsu.edu) is a faculty-led initiative featuring 200+ affiliates from six colleges. It is the premier center of research, teaching and service activity at WSU for collaborative efforts pursuing major environmental initiatives. CEREO advances three principal goals: a) promotion of broad, multi-investigator interdisciplinary research programs for ground-breaking environmental research and graduate training; b) facilitation of high quality environmental research, teaching, and institutional outreach supporting the Land Grant mandate across WSU’s four campuses and numerous Extension centers; and c) promotion of productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
