Deserai Crow and Maxwell Boykoff publish new book Culture, Politics and Climate ChangeFebruary 27, 2014IECA founding members Deserai Crow and Maxwell Boykoff from the University of Colorado have published Culture, Politics and Climate Change: How Information Shapes our Common Future, an anthology stemming from a conference they hosted in 2012. Several other IECA members have contributed to the book, including Edward Maibach, Bruno Takahashi, Mark Meisner and Alison Anderson. |

Kevin Deluca organizes Art and Pollution Living GalleryFebruary 19, 2014In response to the Utah smog problem, Kevin Deluca and his graduate student Betsy Brunner organized an international art studio/gallery on air pollution at the U of Utah. It has gone exceedingly well. The media really love it, with over 12 stories and a McKibben tweet. See below for a few. This might be an idea for other regional issues. Fadia Hasan's BGreen Conference energizes Bangladeshi YouthFebruary 10, 2014In January the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh hosted IECA member Fadia Hasan's BGreen conference for Bangladeshi youth. The conference connected approximately 120 dynamic Bangladeshi youth with innovative professionals, programs and methods in an organized platform on issues of localized environmental and climate change challenges. Sharing the same platform, young citizens, academics and professionals participated in discussions, critically contemplated challenges, and worked to develop effective solutions collectively. |

Juliet Pinto co-produces "South Florida's Rising Seas" documentaryJanuary 11, 2014IECA member Juliet Pinto and her colleague Kate MacMillin recently completed a documentary about rising sea level and its effects in Florida. Entitled "South Florida's Rising Seas," it explores the challenges that region will face in the coming decades when sea levels rise a predicted nine inches. |
