The National Communication Association has named IECA founding member Donal Carbaugh as one of their Distinguished Scholars for 2016. Carbaugh, who is a professor of communication at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, has been central to the development of the field of environmental communication and has been a strong supporter of The IECA.
Given annually, the NCA Distinguished Scholar Award is the association’s highest accolade. It honors a lifetime of scholarly achievement in the study of human communication. Recipients are selected by their peers to showcase the best of the communication discipline.
