Abstract:

A move from higher education teaching Environmental Communication to producing a weekly, local, half-hour radio show on the environment requires a shift in messaging for the environmental advocate and a change in work habits and structure. What aspects carry over and what new ways of communicating are required? How is the audience different and how does feedback change? I reflect on the move from teaching to legacy media practitioner and how it "feels," while also comparing and contrasting the two modes of environmental advocacy.
