Waterlines: Confluence and Hope through Environmental Communication. The 15th biennial Conference on Communication and Environment (COCE). June 17-21, 2019, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada

Papers & Posters

Full conference papers and posters are available here for delegates to the conference. Documents will only be available to IECA members who have registered for COCE 2019. If authors wish to make their papers and posters public, they can choose to do so and those will be publicly available here after the conference.

Even though we are not formally publishing proceedings, having the full papers submitted and available to delegates serves several purposes. First, it helps ensure that contributions to the conference are high quality. Second, it provides conference delegates the chance to learn about the insights from panels they might not be able to attend. And finally, the papers are reviewed by our awards committee for the conference awards.

Please note that this page will change often leading up to the conference as presenters upload their content.

Presenters need to be logged in and registered for the conference in order to upload.

Poster Submissions

The submission of posters is required by May 15.

Please prepare a PDF of your poster and upload it here. Please see the Presenter Instructions page for details on how to prepare your poster.

Paper Submissions

The submission of full scholarly papers and practice reflections is expected by May 15.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Suggested maximum length of 7500 words, including reference list.
  • Use the APA Style for formatting in-text citations and reference list.
  • Use the COCE 2019 Template for Microsoft Word in order to format fonts, headings, spacing, etc. in a consistent manner
  • When copying text into the Template, please MAKE SURE TO USE THE STYLES IN THE TEMPLATE, not the ones from your original document.
